Is an instrument required to read the result?
No. The test result is evaluated visually by color comparison. The blue color that develops when the AChE enzyme functions normally may decrease depending on the degree of enzyme inhibition in the sample. Because this color change can be evaluated visually, no spectrophotometer, chromatography system or dedicated test reader is required. This makes the kit convenient for use outside the laboratory, in receiving areas and in the field.
